Object of my affection

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Good God is going to be hard
forgetting you.
I’m standing on a tin ice
waiting for a glass
to smash and hit me in the face.
In ominous silence it cracks beneath me.
Still, I’m frozen
not moving a muscle
just now realizing
you where chosen long ago.
Epiphany came my way
like a storm on sunny day.
You are the beginning and the end
I won’t and can not defend
from traces of you
shaping every new
object of my affection.
Ages ago you made a mark
It’s still there,
visible in a thickest dark
wish you could see what I made of me
never at ease, eager to please
angry at my faulted nature
cause I started to feel
when you stopped being real,
cause it took me a while
to bare your core and let myself go.
By then it was over,
your wretchedness left
no room for mending
my awkwardness went
far beyond defending.
Today, various are the ways
you dress your haze
Oh, your disguise is brilliant as ever
but it won’t fool my eyes,
I learned to see through it well
no matter how solid your shell.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
