The Right To Die
-------------------------
The Terri Schiavo Case
Do people have the right to die?
Tough question isn’t it?
In the case of Terri Schiavo
Does her husband have her best interests in mind?
Or are her parents holding on to her for selfish reasons?
If you believe that she told her husband
That she did not want to be kept alive through medical means
Does that give him the right to have her feeding tube pulled?
Or do you believe her parents
When they say she is responsive and fighting for life?
Does that give them more right to make the decision for her?
One may never know what Terri’s true feelings are
Now that she is faced with this life or death decision
But my take on the situation is this…
It’s easy to say when you are alive and health
What you do and do not want done in the case of such an accident
But it’s a whole solution when you face death in these eyes
I’m not so sure how many people would not change their minds
Given the chance
I think starving a person to death is a very cruel way
Of carrying out what you think are their wishes
I can only imagine what Terri must be screaming in her mind
But unable to communicate
So I’m back to my question…
Do people have the right to die?
And do others have the right to make that decision for them?
In this case, I vote
Put the feeding tube back in
I vote for…
Life!

I agree I think she should be kept alive. They said i t would take her 2 weeks to die once the pulled the feeding tube out... Its so cruel t make some one suffer like that. All her husband needs to do is divorce her and marry his new gf .... why kill her? |
