A roof that leaks,
a wife who gossips,
a neighbor who peeps,
a pet that bites,
they cause endless grief.
A curious servant,
a nymphomaniac wife,
a lazy brother,
a spendthrift son,
get rid of them.
Two wives at home,
a secretary who flirts,
a boss who grins,
a friend who flatters,
you will die soon.
Walk after dinner,
pay your loans,
remember some birthdays,
crush your enemies,
you will live long.

Real stream-of-consciousness writing!
Hmm - from "A roof that leaks," to "crush your enemies".'
You must have had a fascinating day for these thoughts to pop up in this order!
I like the idea of the first three stanzas pulling life down with its mundaneness as opposed to the final, decisive stanza.
I really enjoyed it! Something to get my teeth into - and really think about!
Best,
