Leaving Darkness

I'm caught in a gap
where my past and future overlap.
My death wants to swallow me,
like a tornado bringing past's debirs.
While my future looks to hope
and knows to look for ways to cope.
But the two sides are tearing me appart,
and leaving behind a hallow heart.
It's hard to love, feel or hate,
my mind I wait to animate.
It simply drained me of everything,
just to make the right decision, leaving the darkness.

Great write. It would've been better if the last two lines rhymed, but it was still great. Keep it up.
