Photographs
Immobile memories
Of times of old
Your lips used to
Linger over every word
And life joyous
Like a floating melody
You would sit with me
In the dark
And we would watch
The dawn lay siege
Upon the remnants of
Lingering twilight
And I would love you
More than words
Could ever say
Dance with me
Under the bows
Of maple trees
Because you knew
We were meant to be
Follow me
To the farthest star
And we will make
Memories worthy
Of the days our lies
Wound tightly
Around us
Kept us alive
And our secret lay hidden
To special to speak
We will wait with angles
Until the sight of spring
Until our love collides
With the unwilling world
And we fall from grace
And we take our love
To the silent grave
And we will leave but
Photographs
Glued to a scrapbook page

A real ride along love's bumpy journey but with the sweet poignancy of the end - summed up beautifully:
"And we will leave but
Photographs
Glued to a scrapbook page "
