Life of Eternal Sleep

Contributed by dvsnme816 on Saturday, 19th March 2005 @ 04:24:44 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

I yearn to someday find my peaceful sanctuary,
the day I won't have to mind this useless vocabulary,
and when I find it-there won't be any tears in my eyes,
knowing that when I was alive I was alone-now my best friend is Christ,
the day I look back-I see myself running towards the future,
but what keeps me from moving is these memories deeply rooted,
I begged people to help me but they just turned their back on me,
I listen to them-they ignore me so my pain turns to agony,
put a gun to the back of my head and pull the trigger quietly,
push my mind to my eyes so I can see what they saw in me,
the last couple moments I'll remember waking up to reveille,
but now I will live on wanting a life of eternal sleep...

This is truly an exceptional write. Its dark, deep and insightful. I think my favourite line
would have to be:

"Push my mind to my eyes so I can see what
they saw in me."

Simply incredible. This has to be one of the best poems I've read in a long time. Beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Take Care
