My Interest In The Light and Dark

Tell me if you can't resist writing about depressing things
Because I can't resist writing them either

When you read your sad works out loud,
Do you recite them in a whisper
With a feigned look of anguish and gloom on your face?
Because I know I do

Do you wish that you could write each black word
On a black paper
In black ink?
I still get that urge too

But there comes a time when those dark things
Must wash away and become white things
And you must open the window and let the light shine
