Songs of Childhood

There was a song in my head when I awoke,
A melody I couldn’t quite grasp,
It had elements of my daughters laugher and invoked
Images of my wife’s smiles as she clasps
Our child to her, and looks up at me.
And I wonder, can an infant’s kiss
Be expressed as a heart-felt melody?
Can reels of rhyme express heavenly bliss?
