A Man's Tears

A Man's Tears
3/19/2005
1:34 PM

On a cold night,
The stars are bright,
A man holds his lover’s head,
Inside his hands,
Tears of sadness fall,
Down his cheeks on to,
Her lips blue and cracked,
Winter froze her hands numb,
Stilled her heart once warm with love,
With his hands in the air,
He says a quiet prayer,
“Dear Lord you took my love,
From me please, please keep her,
Protected and loved.”
He seen stars shoot,
Across the sky his prayer,
Answered he smiled a little,
Lifting her cold body in to his arms,
Bringing her to lay to rest,
Shifting red roses upon the casket,
He reads from a poem she always loved,
“Desirable lady, your love rare
Touching with my fingers your
Golden locks of honey hair,
I remember you walking in the stars
Somewhere beautiful, magical and free,
How your eyes taught my heart to skip a beat,
Your lips are smooth tasting of wine,
Interlacing our hands together we’re forever
We danced in the moon together,
We were guided by the ever love,
Now I shall see you every day your warmth is in me still
Walking down the path to eternity.”

It is a moving poem...beautifully written-the way that it should be (if the sitution need arise at all) and not the way it is.

Well written and indeed a moving poem. Clearly stirred to greatness by your own emotional experience, with the man and losing of his lover. beautiful.

For all the hurt that I like to write about I can only thank God that I haven't had to tackle the above subject matter. Its emotional content gives it integrity.
