What is your name?
He desperately asks
You are perfect
He stutters, then gasps
Just a moment ago
He was desperate and alone
When she looked his way
It sent a familiar trickle down to his bone
His heart fluttered
He could barely breathe
Then she waved and smiled
Not one bit of him was relieved
Was that meant for me?
He quickly looked away
No, it couldn’t be!
Unknown to him, this was his lucky day
An angel as divine as she
Comes but once in a life
If she appears a man must steal her
And make her his wife
A better tale would have told you
That this man was me when it began
But as my angel waved and smiled
I foolishly turned and ran
