the city that haunts me

the ghosts of your city
continue to haunt me
i left you in the past awhile ago
for your deceit, you had to go
but around every corner or bend
your image arises again and again
i left you there, alone
i went on my way, back home
and i hate you
i really do
because it could have been better
your city could have been brighter
we could have had more laughter
you didnt have to be a cheater
the ghosts swirl in my mind
of the girl i left behind
and our strange city memories
with her strange city tendencies
they still linger, unique and unkind
making me wonder if the ride was mine
the time at the bridge of light
we said what we felt was right
the words that echo, but were never true
are the feelings that i secretly feel for you
and im torn a bit between the love and hate
but your a chance i just cant take
because it could have been better
our smiles brighter
but now im smarter
and your cut off.....forever
