The Way It Is

Topic: Lifepoems

I hide my thoughts so I cannot be broken,
Still- being screamed at brings out your emotions,
Seems life is hell and death is heaven-I'm honest,
Happier when life passes you by whilst you remain unconscious,
All I know is everyone keeps betraying me,
I'm blind to truth or maybe it's too late to see,
I cry-but still my eyes are dry and as clear as ice,
And if it wasn't for me being emotionless-I wouldn't be alive,
This world is full people with problems-it's dog eat dog,
I'm the top of the food chain-they try to knock me off,
Everyone is here just to smile when I come to vanish,
And cry when they see my name on an open casket,
Blood pouring ounces and ounces-bodies on the couches,
Peoples screams heard over the highest mountains,
A person like me would try to do something heroic,
Save my family before it's too late-I'm that devoted,
I walk outside and see chalk outlines-Who's gonna pray for them?,
You get used to seeing lives shattered...That's the way it is...

This thought provoking piece had me captured from start to finish. An excellent written poem. The imagery cast and the flow of ur verses are superbly fantastic. Well done
