Mountain rises high
I have walked through clouds on top
Cool mist on my face
Forest thick and green
Peaceful, serene, and virgin
Keep the saws away
River flows to sea
Long confined route it travels
Tamed by locks and dams
Horse of my brothers
Rode hard into the battle
Red man seeks vengeance
Hills are all I see
Rolling gently to the sea
Beautiful landscape
Eagle flying free
Symbol for America
On endangered list
Winter left behind
Headed down to Southern warmth
Sunshine makes me smile
Canyon filled with caves
Waterfall flows at one end
Long hike to get there
Sunset colorful
So many good visuals
Psychedelic show
Island of palm trees
Barefooted on the warm sand
Walking with my love
Ocean so endless
Awe inspiring to me
Keeper of secrets
Volcano dormant
Stands ominous in background
You were once awake
Earth, beautiful orb
Saddened by your destruction
Crying acid rain
Tornado ripped through
Left destruction in its path
Lives devastated
Sun, hot glowing star
Keeps our planet nice and warm
Every star's a sun

Hi Laura, after trying my luck at writing just one haiku, (my first ever) I find a comment has been left by someone who has written many many more. These are truely beautiful pieces indeed. A master class for me that's for sure. I personally feel this style of poetry can literally speak volumes.
