no one to hug

Contributed by reprobate on Thursday, 17th March 2005 @ 08:15:02 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Standing at the door, staring in disbelief
this room seems larger, emptier than ever
it's furniture is shrouded in drape-filtered light
our bed appears emphasized in bright parlor

Footsteps echo in the dark, lonely hall
caught myself listening for that 'busy hum'
so it goes throughout the house of just me
my heart searching for what my eyes can't find

Always a smile, even plenty of laughs
pie from a single fork or a search for a contact
that which was shared completely filled our day
many a happy moment made the home of us

Flowers for the occasion and some for just because
Hugs for no reason or to ease some sad thought
that was us and our happily ever after
no longer...all the flowers are safe

Life is a web and we are as spiders upon
fairy strands of dreams that lured and caught
we snared each other with pluck and vigor
now you're gone, leaving me in the web with rigor

I am so sorry. I know that lonely search for what should have been. Waiting for that gently touch or kiss, just because. I wish you happiness and success in finding what you are looking for. Everyone deserves it, we live for it.

Oh gosh, this was lonely and sad in it's feel. I hate to be alone, never have been good at it. Maybe there is just so much I have to share....thinking of these feelings you describe, scare me. Life is definitely a web my friend, it is how we are all connected. I am glad our strands have crossed, friendships can be such a tight weave.
*hugs you tightly*
Peace,
Laura

this is one of those poems that is tangibly breathing,
the shock of that happening to you makes me here the
echos of footfall, the laughter that now lives in walls, but
michael now you have me wanting pie! and o! -----> Life
is a web and we are as spiders upon fairy strands of dreams
impressive!

love n' oodles of hugs, nessa
