I watch the antics of all those superstars and their pathetic immitators.
Just to make themselves look good they'd do anything -
Break someone's heart,
Wreck someone's fame,
Steal someone's fortune.
People arent allowed to be who they want to be.
If they try to be themselves they are ridiculed, maimed, disowned.
They have nowhere to turn but to turn into someone else,
maybe a perfect superstar,
maybe a friend,
maybe what their parents want them to be.
Why do we live in a world like this?
Why do we put up with all this crap?
A world full of depression, suicides and war -
Where kids grow up believing in sex, drugs and rock n roll.
A world in which we are used to hearing about rapes and massacres and murder in the news every night...
Why doesnt anyone speak out about how the world has changed?
It is because they are scared -
scared noone will back them up,
be on their side.
The world will stay the way it is,
maybe it will get worse...
But if this is what the world is coming to -
Why doesnt anyone seem ashamed?

you would have to wonder why no one really questions what we see on tv and how much we have become accustom to seeing dead people and people suffering on tv and in newspapers. it's like people are moulded into what their parents and friends want them to be rather than what they want to be. i tried to write a poem about this before but i think you have expressed it so much better than i have. thank you for telling people what they don't want to hear and for having the courage to be different from all the sheep (maaaa!!!) lol. love u hun

"They have nowhere to turn but to turn into someone else". This line of poetry is perhaps one of the best quotes i have ever come across, it embody's exactly what your poem talks about and is exact. It is true, because we dont know what to do or who to be we turn into somebody else, and that somebody else is wat society forces us to be. So why arnt we ashamed? good question, perhaps one that cant be answered until something drastic occures. A good poem with strong opinions throughout its duration, well done, what more can be said? you have captured your view with perfect precision.
