memories attached to raindrops

Contributed by summers on Thursday, 17th March 2005 @ 02:24:12 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

the most haunting vision i’ve had:
your face in the glass waving goodbye for the last time.
i refuse to let this happen…

as i ride down to the creek tonight the rain bleeds in sympathy,
and it’s more than i asked for.

if this forest were like me it would remember every scratch,
all the plant life scorched to the ground.
ember after ember after ember.
but it doesn’t,
and the rain doesn’t help as it bleeds its false pity.
time seems to stop for the downpour.

this taunting rain sickens me.
it’s hollowed out the tip of my bullet and aimed for the bone.
it shreds through my skin and out the other side,
finally resting itself in the soil.

it’s an empty gesture.
i have your actions captured in a single silhouette,
but when the rain comes, i always forget.

so much rides on me making this right.

The words here are so deep, intense...
a very powerful write.

Every line seems to have so much within and and behind it.
Impactful and impressive.

any person that makes you feel like that isnt worth letting yourself hurt, except of course when it comes to a child. Beautiful poem. And you seem sweet!

think higher thoughts of the memory beyond a single raindrop...think of every cell of your entire physical world and all the memories contained therein..the vastness of the physical and the empowerment of the mystical...
