Just Another Cliché Love Poem

I could write another cliché love poem
Smoothing the surface with sweet sentiments
Emphasizing every magnificent trait you possess,
While leaving out the frequent disagreements.
I could babble on about the way you make me feel
Whispers free-flowing, revealing an eloquent relation
Neither touch nor sight hath ever influenced,
But leaving it sounding so pure would be nothing short of a crime.
And I could grant you credit for every smile since we met
Confessing that your mere essence
Sends waves of happiness surging through my soul,
But saying that you make me happy would be an understatement.
So I could close this poem declaring my everlasting love,
Expressing my deepest desires to be held within your warm embrace
And spend the rest of eternity in such a perfect moment,
But unfortunately, doing so would be foolish,
Just another cliché in itself.

Sadly,
without cliches there would be no poetry.
Good writing, Anna Marie.
