Canis Lupus

Contributed by Ash on Tuesday, 17th December 2002 @ 08:20:00 PM in AEST
Topic: fantasy

We bay our praise to the full moon
As our ululating cries,
ring through the ebon skies
our fellow worshipers commune

We howl our prayers to the gods of night
Sing the song of our kin
Story of our ancestors therein
Reveling in the power of our birthright

Many as one, loping down the secret trails
legs pumping
Hearts jumping
Our movements in synch, haunting hill and dale

A mournful howl signals that the hunt begins
The pack splits in two
And the chase ensues
We give chase and as one we give a wolfish grin

As we feast on our kill, my feral eyes sweep the glade
yellow eyes reflect the light
so like my own, as I bless the night
Thankful for my fellow hunters, illuminate in the moonlit cascade

Alas the night comes to an end, agony as I die inside and keen
Grey fur withdraws, two legs instead of four
I wake up naked, on the forest floor
Sun dappled skin, once again, wolf no more
Until the moonlight kisses my skin, my wolves soul remains unseen.

this is really good, and really expresses the metamorphosis of the human into somthing else, and the sadness that must come over one as they change back from a beautiful hnter, to something they dont feel they are naturally..
