Punch me
Kick me
Love me
Squeeze me
Chew me out
But no apologies will be accepted
No material object will fix this gap between us
The ditch you have dug
with lies, self-indulgent theories,
is too deep to be crossed
with a credit card bridge
Turn away from the truth
again and again
The problems will never be fixed
Cause you tune me out and run
Run your marathon way into the hills
You will never hear me
You may hear my faint whisper
But dont turn back because
I may love you
but I hate you.

hmm.. nicely written, but very angry. i can relate to your problem as well.. i have a similar communication problem in my family. it hurts, because i get angry at the injustice of it.. its hard, but over time ive learned that the attitude we take is really powerful. i can say whatever, i dont care and turn away, or i can say whatever, i dont care because ive forgiven you already and there is victory over these problems, in Jesus. the difference between these things is one is based on a lie and leads to anger, depression, and hate... the other is based on truth and leads to life, peace, and love. we each have a free will to choose, and the words we speak reflect that and become our reality. so anyway.. its my prayer that you would find that life and peace in Christ, and learn to trust God for your salvation, not yourself. every good thing comes from him.
peace to ya,
joshua |
