In the End

Contributed by Unheard_Mute on Tuesday, 15th March 2005 @ 11:13:34 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

(It started with)
The same thing / I don’t know why
It didn’t even matter how hard I tried
Kept that in mind / When I stole this rhyme
To remind myself how
I tried so hard
Love is a valuable thing
Watch it come and go as the pendulum swings
Watch it break down at the end of the day
You tore my heart away
It’s so unfair
Didn’t see me below
Watch me go right out the window
Tried to grab on / but didn’t even know
Wasted it all just to
Watch me go
I always had to step aside and even though I tried / you ignored my heart
Now what you meant to me / will eventually / be a memory / of a time when I tried
so hard
And never got far
And in the end
It didn't even matter
You let me fall
Made me crawl
And in the end
It didn’t even matter

The same thing / I don’t know why
It didn’t even matter how hard I tried
Kept that in mind / When I rewrote this rhyme
To explain to you why
I’m with her
It’s ‘cause of the way you were treating me
Acting like you didn’t care until recently
Remembering all the times you had forgotten me
I’m surprised I tried (again)
Things aren’t the way they were before
You can’t make me wait in line anymore
Now that I’ve got my own girlfriend
You’ve come running back to me
In the end
You kept pushing me aside and even though I tried / you still broke my heart
But now you see / you can't have me / oh the irony / reminds me of a time when
Life sucked so hard
And now I'm scarred
but in the end
It doesn't even matter
You let me fall
Now you crawl
And in the end
It won't even matter

I put my love in you
Pushed as far as I could go
For all that
There’s only one thing you should know
I put my love in you
Pushed as far as I could go
For all that
There’s only one thing you should know
I tried so hard
And didn’t get far
And in the end
It didn’t even matter
The table's turned
Got what you earned
But in the end
That won't even matter
