Heaven

Contributed by wyrd_faerie on Tuesday, 17th December 2002 @ 05:00:00 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Bittersweet promises broken by a torn up trust
Feelings fallen, memories turned to dust
Raw emotion held back, heads pounding with fear
Silver keys open silver locks to transparent tears

Truth all around you, surrounded by lies
Angels laughing but you hear their cries
False imagery, fake smiles, hidden thoughts
They all give up so easily, but you see how they fought

Dressed in white with a halo on your head
Invisible chains tie you to your deathbed
The sun seems a little too bright today, grass too green
Sitting here, this is the worst place you’ve ever been

Hating the smiles and the jokes everywhere
Sickly sweet images, feelings of death and despair
Look behind the beauty, see the disguise
They say you’re lucky, they never opened their eyes

Candy dreams destroyed by a torn up trust
Feelings fallen, memories turned to dust
Raw emotion held back, heads pounding with fear
Silver locks close silver gates, climb the walls, there’s no way out of here

Wow, this was so well written I could taste the fear and anger in your words. I'm a bit confused though are u saying heaven is a bad place? I like the line "Angels laughing but you hear their cries" i've laughed many times wishing ppl could see inside and see the tears running down. This was very well written i'm amazed and it strikes a chord deep within me.
