Chains of Misery

Contributed by childhood on Tuesday, 15th March 2005 @ 05:45:08 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

On a sea of misguided dreams.
Where people are ruled by the machine.
Waking up to wind themselves for another day
of being puppets. I reach to the stars
being held down by chains heavier then
misery and shorter then hope. I wait for my
soul to grow wings and fly beyound the
heavens. I wait for my body to fill with
light that extends further then the limits
of this world. And as I wait for these
things I ask my mind what is freedom...
The meaning of life is only but to live.

very poetic, you have talent! yet, if i may venture a critique of your theme, i would dispute the reason for hopelessness you feel. your conclusion is a dismal one, and i know there is so much more to life. to love is to truely live, and God is love, expressed through Jesus Christ. however.. im not here to argue theology. but i have a point to ponder... in your last line, you claim that the reason to living is simply to live. however, logically, it doesnt make sense... its like the chicken and the egg. there has to be a starting point.

paul said three things will last forever... faith, hope, and love, but that the greatest of them is love. they all equate to the same thing, and that is God.. relational, loving, and true. hope leads to faith, faith leads to love. so take heart, we love because he first loves us and he is looking for your consent. give him a chance. goodness comes from him and not ourselves.

peace,
joshua
