Daddy's Lullabies...

Contributed by FleurdeSang on Tuesday, 15th March 2005 @ 11:45:23 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Hush, little precious, I'm here,
Lay your head down, and go to sleep...
I'll protect you from the monsters under your bed,
The horrors of life,
And sing you a sweet lullaby...

Don't you see, daddy, that you are the monster?
You're my horrid nightmare,
Coming to me every night,
Leaving me in eternal sorrow and pain...

No lullaby could ever put me to sleep,
Whiskey on your breath, hands roaming under the covers,
But I stay quiet,
Because I know resisting is useless...

"You know I love you... No one gives a **** about you, like I do..."
I nod my head with tears in my eyes,
I will never be able to understand your ways,
But only know that that is how it has to be...
I thought I changed all of that long ago,
I truly thought I was free...

What a fool I am,
To think that a lecherous beast could ever cease his desires...

Now I am here again,
Back to page one of my nightmarish tale...
There is nothing I can do,
Paralyzed in my place of vulnerablity,
Lwtting you do as you nplease...
I know I must react,
Scream, yell, hit, kick...anything...
Yet...I am numb, and feel nothing anymore...

Accostumed to your night 'lessons',
I just go within myself and hide in a dark corner,
Hoping...wishing to get away...
But all I hear is your resonating lullaby,
An I yearn for death...my eternal slumber...

Don't fret, my precious, I'm here,
Lay your head down and pay no heed...
I am the monster in your dreams,
Wanting only your terror-filled screams...
No one gives a **** about you, like I do...
My little girl, I love you...

This poem is amazing! I know exactly where you are coming from my dear! I only wish that it never happened but sadly life has played one of it's cruel tricks. God bless you and just know there are others out there that have suffersd the same fate. take care and keep the faith.

"You know I love you... No one gives a **** about you, like I do..."

That line ... above all else ... angers me. You deserve so much better ... and he deserves ... he deserves what I could only dream ... I am deeply touched by the pain that has been inflicted upon you Steph ... how I wish I could change it.
