Fear Of The Night

Contributed by xtremcalibur on Tuesday, 15th March 2005 @ 04:37:21 AM in AEST
Topic: insomniac

Fading through the walls the shadows disappear
A story repeated each and every night
As if a broken record is playing
Bringing back all my childhood fears
Under covers I await
Clinging to my teddy bear
Frightened ~ I dare not sleep
I pray to God to be near
Imagined sounds and images
I slip deeper inside and hide
And slowly as the sun begins to rise
The fears slowly subside
My body begins to feel a calm
From the fear of something I have never seen
Knowingly it haunts me every night
And ~ tonight ~ the cycle will return
As a phantom in my mind ~ I fear ~ I fear the night.

“Fading through the walls the shadows disappear”
An incredible display of iridescent words, creatively producing most vivid mental visualisations.

I think the metaphorical description and comparison to a child’s behaviour to your nyctophobia is spectacular.
“Under covers I await
Clinging to my teddy bear”

“And slowly as the sun begins to rise
The fears slowly subside”
Light brings clarity, does it not?
*Smiles * A beautiful piece

Very strong touching emotions.
My father use to tell me that night is the same as day except it's dark. He always assured me there was nothing to fear.
huggs,
emy
