When the Hippies Come Out to Play

Contributed by CodyJ on Monday, 14th March 2005 @ 09:21:30 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

The hippies have come out to play,
on this, a very sunny day.
They roll in the fields,
and smoke some grass,
they skip through the streams,
splash in the mud,
jump through the hemlocks
without dropping their bud.
With night will come the kids,
kids who should have died of SIDS,
little gremlins or little elves,
little problems that help themselves
to the hippies stash,
the hippies cash,
they waste the night on smoke
and drink, sex and bling,
really all the little things.
Down will come the rain,
and with that they will blame
the big bad government clouds,
way up in the shrouds
of the sky they send gusts of rules
and regulations
to keep the kids
in their stations,
while the foul weather keeps the hippies at bay,
grumbling about the man all day.
Then on the horizon comes a vision,
why, look everybody!, here comes religion
to sweep away that pesky law
replace it with the tome of God,
the greatest thing they ever saw
fell on their foreheads
with a mighty thud.
Religon picks up the sun to light
up the land, to ease the plight,
or just illuminate what it has to say,
as it turns to lead the way,
the hippies will come out to play.
