Lulled into a false sense of security, I fumble forward.
Once again, I let you in.
At least this way I die quickly.
I let you in and violently you annihilate me.
You reduce me to nothing but bathroom floor tile.
Fetal position
wet and alone
No one to call
No one to save me
I am not ready to save myself.
Why can’t I be like you?
You and your ulterior motives.
Always one step ahead.
Focused on shattering character.
Determined to destroy what makes me me.
I no longer love you.
I find it hard to hate you.
I should hate you.
Knowing you as well as I know myself scares me.
I let you in.
No long, drawn out battle to drain me
and my resolve to stand up for a just cause.
My cause is me.
I did not intend to become a martyr.
Martyred is what I’ll be.
I will have many mourners. You’ll see.
