MY APOLOGY TO THE WORLD

Contributed by compton-tre-block on Monday, 14th March 2005 @ 06:30:37 PM in AEST
Topic: ApologyPoetry

I apologize...
for not bein "All that I Can Be"
I am so sorry that
Uncle Sam did not accept me!
I apologize...
for the pain I caused your people
you told me when I was young..
that we could never be equals
I apologize...
for the thought that were here to
rape your women..and for the
thought that all black means venom
I apologize...
that my blood is red just like yours..
but in real life were just nigaz an hores!
I apologize...
for bein enslaved for 400 years!!!
Sorry for bein on the slave boat
and bein shot with them spears
I apologize...
for our poverty an how we die everyday
for our gunz and violence, no food on our trays
I apologize...
for the fact that theres drugs on the streets
skinny lil kids with no shoes on there feet
I apologize...
cuz I know Im not your color...
sorry for the question:"Cant we be brothers?"
I apologize...
that my hair is nappy an my stomach is hurtin
sorry I made this country so divertent...

This was an awesome write. Yet i'm still trying to understand where the negitivity is needed..... Anyways you expressed yourself very well in this poem. I enjoyed it and i don't blame you for your choice of words and such, this is how you vent. I admire that. You say what you feel. Great job. I'll be looking for more of your work.

As I read this poem, and some of the comments,
I really start to see how lost we are, as human beings.
What hurts is the people who don't;
can't understand your poem, and it's depth.
This is not negativity in the least bit, nor is it stereotyping, it's frustrastion.
This is how the world in a whole feels
( about blacks, jews, women, each other).
I loved this write. All of it is true then and now.
For all who still are in denial, just ask your self;
if you meet and man in suit and tie in a dark alley vs
a man in rags who would you trust?

Well written
