slipping away

Love settles in like fog,
Gentle and deceiving.
decending from the sky,
Or rising from the very ground
It blinds us, drifts by us,
Impossible to grasp and hold.
And just as our eyes adjust
And we smile at its beauty,
It thins and disappears.
Never the closure of a slamming door,
But just a quiet slipping away.
We can stand on a mountainside
And seem to walk right out on it,
Soft white paths of whispery truth
concealing the treacherous fall.
What demons hide in the fog of our minds?
What lies are concealed by the mist?
Questions to be answered in the clear light of day,
But for now I run my hand quickly thru
And gaze at the gentle swirls.

Closure is something that many people wish they could get. This is a well written piece of poetry, in that it provides an easy scene to relate to for any reader. Good job. |
