No Time to Coast

Do you feel on fire down deep inside,
Or are your embers growing cold?
Is your walk with God still fresh in your heart,
Or has it become stale and old?
Do you feel as close to God as you did before,
Or is the distance spreading a little each day?
It’s not something you intended to let happen to you,
Yet from by God’s side, you have slowly strayed.
Well, don’t let another moment pass you by,
Don’t turn your back on God anymore.
Just take a little time to fall on your face,
Till you feel that fire burn like before.
We all have valleys that we must go through,
When we will need God the most,
So remember when things are going your way,
There is no time to coast.

very well done! and on a personal note, i love poetry about God.. he is amazing! one thing i noticed in this poem is your emphasis on keeping close to God.. this is important. but, even more important, is trusting him to stay close to us! sometimes we push him away without meaning to, thinking that we arnt worthy of his company. and while rebelliousness can and will keep him away, a repentant heart is enough to bring him running, for he has paid the price through Jesus! of course, you know that as well as i, but to walk it out fully is something we all need work on. luckily its not our work to worry about... he himself is the author and finisher of our faith, and he IS faithful. we just need to trust him fully, pray that his will be done, and be honest about ourselves. well, your poem is certainly inspiring, it got me on a rant... good work! remember that your faith is not in vain..
peace be with you,
joshua |
