At Christmas

Contributed by olivetreedove on Monday, 14th March 2005 @ 09:22:53 AM in AEST
Topic: DreamsandWishes

It's Christmastime again, and yes,
I know I should be glad,
But my heart longs for just one thing
And thus it makes me sad.

The lights are hung around the tree,
The Christmas carols sung.
The bells in their enormity
Are waiting to be rung.

With gifts and bags in hand they walk,
Lining the streets of town.
They peek in windows and they gawk
At each new Christmas gown.

I see the couples on the street,
They're walking hand in hand.
Their footsteps sound a steady beat;
the beat of life's demand.

I know I cannot have this thing,
Or else I would rejoice.
Your heart belongs to her, not me,
If so, then that's your choice.

I know I cannot tell you this,
But please, do you not see,
That my heart's one desire is;
I want you to love me.

it is said that Christmas is the lonliest time of year, and i believe it. its also easier to feel lonely in a crowd then when your alone... (think about it!)

anyway, i thought id respond with a poem of my own. bear with me, im making it up as i go... ahem.

we all need to be loved
so look up
to the One who is above
dont suck it up
let it all down
fall into Him
and you will begin to see
that the answer is only He
turn that frown
upside-down
take heart
for -most special- to Him thou art
call it a cliche
call it mush
but theres really no lover
like that guy named Jesus

i hope this helps. i mean these words with all my heart, and i pray you may find your peace.
