The car drove off,
tail light hanging off the back.
It gets lost in the traffic,
and I'll never get her back.
She left her heart up in Hartford,
she left my apartment in New Haven,
she left this place for a better one
with the change she'd been saving
to buy some gas,
make it last
till she hit the border,
hit it fast,
she is gone,
and she is home.
She left me alone,
for Mexico.
