Intellectual talk and discussions of art
is nothing more than lines from books
not tales from the heart.
How can one surround themselves in nothing but
words drapped in smoking jackets
and glasses of bourbon?
Joni sings a song of nothing but
fun at the Mermaid cafe
and her words are valued
by the wisdom of once being a rambler
trailing upon the streets of vagabonds and gypsies.
One must be set in their own person
to feel the thrill of laughter
true laughter at the world's display of silliness.
True intelligence is to admit to judgment
but not hold in judgment.
What you read is the intellect of another
what you say is just quotation.

... Then I better not discuss your work penned as art, for then it would be a tale not from the heart... A joke... Hope it incited a true laugh. |
