THE ATHEIST'S PRAYER

Contributed by steeleyes on Sunday, 13th March 2005 @ 07:32:07 PM in AEST
Topic: spiritual

~

May intellect grant the religiously blinded wisdom
To see that nature is all there is and how much there is

May intellect grant the believer in God to doubt
To see that all holy things are instead wholly natural

May intellect grant holy fools not to confuse the already wise
So they may have peace to confront existing natural events

May intellect break open a small crevice in all bubbles of belief
So that good men and women can be free of illusion

May intellect speak softly to the hard core of unwarranted faith
So that in time all dumb silence and tight lipped prejudice are opened

May intellect reveal the universe in all it’s natural glory to all
So everyone may realise no Earthly or Heavenly God exists

May all Humankind live in reality and peace having faced these truths

I so pray.

~
