Spirit
Alive
Fighting
And Free
~
Burning
Inside
Wanting
To see
~
She waits in the dark
For the dreams that will come
Too scared to fight
Too proud to run
But the voices inside
Whisper strength in her ear
Where those that control
Can no longer hear
They lend her their words
By the light of the moon
Heartfelt and sincere
Promising soon
A release from her pain
And all that she’s seen
Just a little while longer
For today she’s sixteen
The shadows will lift
Her soul will then breathe
And she’ll no longer be
The flower that bleeds
