I Wondered The Earth For A Hundred Years

Contributed by ForeverAndADay on Saturday, 12th March 2005 @ 07:32:47 PM in AEST
Topic: spiritual

I have died, and here there is no voice to beckon me on.

I see heaven in a dream...
And in it I see a book...
And a man as tall as a skyscraper...
Telling me that he has looked...
Again and again...but cannot find my name...
I beg him to look just one more time and he turns me away.

I do not understand...
Every child that is no child any longer says...
How could things have ended up this way...
I've given you my time...
I've noticed you throughout my life...
Why am I here now...a shadow in the afterlife.

He turns to me and even as a ghost I dare not look him in the face...
I send you here Just so that you may wonder but one hundred days...
As soon as your sentence has ended, maybe I can find you a little space...
But if you have not learned a single thing from now to then...
I will sentence you harsher in accordance with your sins...

I wonder deeply, and days are years in the afterlife...
A hundred years seams far too long but I am determined to understand why I must wonder this sad and lonely place...
I see faces that should be familiar and people who sometimes look at me in their own way...
I see God's eye's fixing my soul with a spiritual agony...
I still do not understand what he tries to teach me...

I see young children dying and commiting suicide...
I see old men at the end of their tired lives...
I see women who lose children everyday and wonder why...
I see al the world as they cry...all of the time...
And everyone I see dies, I see their shadows vanish at the end of thei lives...

And as I face that skyscraper man again he asks me what I've learned...
I can see nothing different, then what I've seen before...
People are so unfortunate, I can hardly believe I wasted my life so...
Wishing I was dead when you've gave me so much when so many of them seam to suffer on their own...
You were always there for me, though I did not see it then...
Im sorry father...nothing has changed...
It's alright...he said...
Go on in...
