The rain wears him down
Like many mountains before
No thing is timeless
Dirt washes away
Like the words he left unsaid
Shadows of themselves
Mud is collective
The sum of things forgotten
All things left over
Night is memory
Temple of past and future
Mirthless guard of sleep
Time is the mother
That gives birth without question
She forgives all things
A new form is born
Like the Phoenix from its ash
All things live again
The dawn is a saint
Giving new breath to old lungs
A bridge from the night

Your words work well, you have some good metaphores.
I don't think this as good as the first one still, but it is still very good.
