Try to be something decent, trying to be something
Looking through me with those big black eyes because you know you are
You are desiring something more decent than I ever was or could be
(professional alcoholic, pill-popper, whatever numbs my soul)
Where do you run to when you're not with me?
Where do you hide when you're pretending you don't know me?
All I see around me are great big falling stars
Alone again I'm hiding, taking shots of vodka in my car
Screw it... I close my eyes so I don't have to see
the type of woman you desire is much more sober than me
(beige slacks and always reliable and agrees with the rules)
Being what you are, I guess it's all fine and well
You're the star but I'm in hell
Even when i have not enough to be drunk
I try not to remember that you're the one I want
(dominate with lover-comfort crashing through the walls)
