Love is something,
You should never deny.
Because it is something,
That is in short supply.
Love is a treasure,
You should always take.
If you throw it away,
That would be a mistake.
A love that is given,
Should be cherished.
If you throw it away,
Your heart may perish.
If you are lucky,
And someone loves you.
You should acknowledge the love,
And accept it too.
For love that is given,
Is a precious treasure.
So do your best,
Not to ruin it’s pleasure.
Take it inside,
And hold it tight.
Let it bring to you,
Wonderful delight.
Accept it completely,
And give it respect.
Then you heart it will,
Always protect.
They say it is better,
To take the chance.
Then to deny yourself,
A wonderful romance.
Love that is lost,
Can scar a soul.
When you find love again,
It can make your heart whole.
So take a chance,
On love today.
You might be surprised,
That it is here to stay.

Oh here here to the wife, i totally completely agree this poem needed to be posted, it's very inspirational and full of reality and truth, and it knocks fear down and i admire that...ahhh this is beautiful, now see when the wife says to submit another one you gotta listen to her coz she knows what she's talkin bout *smiles* lol....Welcome to YPDC i'll be looking for more of your poetry...thanks for sharing this one i enjoyed it tremendously...

| i enjoyed reading the two poems you have posted on this site. they are great and show that you have great talent, your use of words can really paint the picture in the readers mind. the only suggestion that i would make is that you might try something besides just 4 line stanzas, other than that i think your work is great. keep it up. |
