Mom's Birthday Poem

Contributed by ToriVeigh on Wednesday, 9th March 2005 @ 08:18:24 PM in AEST
Topic: BirthdayPoems

Beautiful to behold
A daughter with black curls
A tiny hand to hold
The first of many girls

She had a will of steel
Persevering through her fears
In time, she would heal
After many fallen tears

A heroine, to the little ones
They marveled at her strength
A fight, to never be won
Though her father tried at length

She grew to a woman
Of uncommon strength and beauty
From the known, she ran
And found herself a cutie

He became her friend and lover
With him, she’d spend her life
She wanted him and no other
So she became his wife

Their journey had just begun
The first baby on the way
She would no longer run
With her family, she would stay

God saw her through
Even through her doubt
When she knew not what to do
God always helped her out

Four babies later
Her life seemed complete
With the help of the creator
She’d never see defeat

As the children grew,
Their wills became apparent
Much drama did ensue
Why’d she become a parent?!

There was more in store
More than a parent would she be
A career she would procure
And computers would be the key

Her life was overwhelmingly full
Yet she always had more to give
In many directions, she felt the pull
A stressful life to live

She has always seen success
A miracle for sure
For life is one big mess
She found God to be the cure

This one amazing jewel
In the Father’s labor
Has been a precious tool
And earned the Father’s favor

Throughout all of her years
She has touched so many lives
She’s helped many with their fears
And hope, she helped revive

Never could she be replaced
In the lives of those she touched
With her presence, they were graced
Through which, they gained so much

This is but a shadow
Of the woman that we admire
A picture oh so shallow
Of the truth, which should inspire

What I’m trying to reveal
Is to me she’s been a balm
The gratitude I feel
That this woman is my mom
