Aloneness

Contributed by freckle on Wednesday, 9th March 2005 @ 07:36:18 PM in AEST
Topic: ambiguous

Aloneness

How lost can you feel
before you find the light
of friendship
welcoming you home

Where do you go
when everyone
is too busy
to notice
you're alive

What is the price
you will pay
for sitting quietly
not wanting
to lose
what friendships
you have hoarded

Why do you think
things turn out
the way
they do
always
for you

When can you
find the security
you need
so badly
to think
you
fit in

Who is the one
among us
who can say
that they know
what
the answers
are....

Who, what, when, where, how and why....
all the questions a good writer asks.

I have written something similar, and I definitely identify with the questions this poem asks.

(I had no Heineken, but it was late at night)

Well written. It asks those questions that are hard to ask in any but a few moods, hard to ask in the right words, hard to find answers to, but much too hard not to ask, sometimes.

Andrew
