Rippling Muscles
Powerful hooves
Dangerously beautiful
These Mustangs are free
They have never know the feel of a whip
Or the coldness of a snaffle bit in their mouths
A saddle is a sight never beheld
They are familiar to the feel
Of cold earth beneath their hooves
The sight of a moon on a foggy night
Is one they often see
As the drift off to sleep
Alert and patient
A guard keeps watch
These horses are smart-
They know the threatening sounds and smells
Of awaiting death
Rippling muscles
Powerful hooves
Dangerously beautiful
These mustangs are free
Snow is their small breakfast
Along with frozen grass
Winter's icy tendrils have begun to creep in
Their coats are long and shaggy so
These cold fingers of frost cannot make them shiver
A branch snaps close by loud and crackly
And the tesnse horses spook and gallop away
Is fate to snatch them from this golden life
And place them in a human's home?
Rippling muscles
Powerful hooves
Dangerously beautiful
These mustangs are free-for now
