A Hymn to Goddess of Learning

Contributed by venkat on Monday, 16th December 2002 @ 04:00:00 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

O Thou, the great Goddess of learning,
Thou art the brilliance of beautiful nature
and the spirit of divine inspiration.
Thou art the soul of fine arts and source of creation.
Thou art the tree of eternal life-laden
with innumerable leaves of words and sounds;
and with flowers of fragrant thoughts;
giving birth to juicy fruits of knowledge;
sheltering wonderful birds of heavenly songs.
Thou art the embodiment of the poetry,
music, fine arts and all sciences.
Thou art the supreme Goddess of knowledge
adored by seven muses of learning,
and anointed by seven streams of nectar drawn
from the celestial rivers of milky ways.
O Thou, the great Goddess of learning!
As I adored your glorious feet of rosy splendor
and felt their touch of warmth and tender,
my heart bloomed as a thousand petalled Lotus.
There I enthroned Thee as a spring of blissful nectar.
When Thou hast overflowed with divine inspiration
I was enthralled in every cell of my body
kissing the cheeks of lotus petals of my heart,
I have tasted the nectar of immortal bliss,
and turned into a heavenly river of inspiration
filled with divine love and grace of divine poesy..

Beautiful poem:-) Is this about the Hindu goddess of learning? I used to know her name, but I have forgotten it.
