Sadness is not as bad as its been made
if you know how to play the game
learnig to paddle among the lows
and savor the moment when you're riding HIGH.
True, I live in the dark
where monsters wail in playtime
but I can grasp that Midnight
keep it in my palm
as I travel through
the cold.
I paved the way for many Lost Souls
and sheltered them when
the snow is thick and relentless
falling like sheets
of deafening haze.
My heart feels just like the next man
but with one beat more
(maybe two)
and beauty lies within my sight
not of make believe
but to look right trough you
not at you
and I still take to the air.
I'm not draped in mourning
from head to toe
black is just fashion
made symbolism
Mockery
to the truth
what lies inside.
And when the time comes
and I fade into what I've become
I feel no sense of loss but pride
to have savored every emotion
juiced it of its essence
becoming the center of the experience.

I don't have much to say about this poem because anything that needed to be said, you have already said in your poem. It is deeply honest, and you touch on a chorde that is essential to the human experience. Thanks for sharing such a personal poem.
