We try

Topic: SongLyrics

Chorus:

What we sing on these rainy days
Never quiet gets through the any of us
Even though we all sing the same words
Trying to get through to everyone else

We try
Yeah we try
We run, scrap our knees
We sing, burn our lungs
We cry, flood the world
But we keep trying
Trying
Trying…

Verse one:

My legs are turning to jelly at every turn
The gas ran out long ago, I just keep going on fumes
The lights are flickering, power won’t last much longer
Buildings bursting from the trees, blocking my way out
We are all yelling out, voices cracking
With sunshine touched memories we run
Feet breaking on the paved roads

Chorus:

What we sing on these rainy days
Never quiet gets through the any of us
Even though we all sing on the same words
Trying to get through to everyone else

We try
Yeah we try
We run, scrap our knees
We sing, burn our lungs
We cry, flood the world
But we keep trying
Trying
Trying…

Verse two:

Look at him with the sky falling from his eyes
The wind is flowing from his lips
Yet no one stops to look
Don’t you see?
Yeah don’t you see it?
We are here to stay; turning away won’t stop a thing
But still you try, blinding you eye

Chorus:

What we sing on these rainy days
Never quiet gets through the any of us
Even though we all sing on the same words
Trying to get through to everyone else

We try
Yeah we try
We run, scrap our knees
We sing, burn our lungs
We cry, flood the world
But we keep trying
Trying
Trying…

Verse three:

They aren’t going away and neither am I
I’ll stand in front of you for the rest of time
Screaming out the world you lay before me
Never listening to a word you say
Until you say you love us too
Face it, open your eyes for one second and you will see
That colors paint the world, not black and white
We are not silhouetted against the sky
We blend with the rest of the rainbow fabric of the world

We try
Yeah we try
We run, scrap our knees
We sing, burn our lungs
We cry, flood the world
But we keep trying
Trying
Trying…

Time for you to try too

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
