my skin smells of a faint memory.
gentle, like the boughs of a dream
kissing your face;
you fall asleep.
your breath sings soft and sweet,
through your parted lips, like a child’s
in wonder
i brush your eyelids
with fingertips unbelieving
you are so near
the scent fades.
outside
i watch the leaves dying beautifully.

This poem is so beautiful, i love it so much. Its so simple, and couldnt be any better. Adding or taking away would mean the death of this poem, and thats what makes it beautiful.
