Every Time I Sit To Write

Contributed by derbeschutzer on Saturday, 5th March 2005 @ 09:55:39 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Every time I sit to write
I intend to tell a story
But instead I am wrought
By the curse of this rhythm
Doomed to poetry
Destined to rhyme and be confined
To verse, stanza, and line.
I wish to write like the classic authors
Doyle and Holmes and Scotland Yard
But I'm chained within this meter
Why not of the elves in the shoemaker's tale?
But the foot is my concern
And though some have become quite famous
I do not envy them
Shakespeare shall never be my model
Only at the feet of the storytellers
Will I consent to grovel.

Happens to me too... :-( Oh well. From what i can see you don't need to be a story teller to be great. Just keep trying, your story just hasn't found you yet. Ya just can't force them. Good luck!
