My Heaven

Contributed by Ataraxia on Saturday, 5th March 2005 @ 08:44:24 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

There’s a trick being played
In the corner of my eye
And when I turn my head
Everything seems fine
I would laugh, I would smile
But instead I just cry
I can’t close my eyes
I can’t shut out my mind

I have heard of a place to go
Where everything is disillusioned
Where everything is perfect
It has been ignored for so long
Windows shattered, corpses rotting
It is all just a wreck…my heaven

I don’t know how
To get to that place though
And driving off the edge
Of the world wouldn’t help
All I know
Is that I have to go
But I don’t even know
What to do with myself

I fall away
Into the depths of my conciousness
There I will find nothingness
Living, breathing
Makes me want to fall away
I’ve messed everything up anyway

I’ve shattered windows
Passed by rotting corpses
I think I have been here before
I refuse to clean dried blood
I won’t disturb a thing
It’s just something I chose to ignore

My little piece of heaven
Of which angel shield their eyes
Where you don’t have to disguise
All the sickening pain and lies
