Patiently waiting…

Patiently waiting…

Forever wanting, wanting to see and be with you.

Your touch… it drives me further into your arms

Your voice… it resonates within, coursing throughout my body,

Shaking the core of my being…

Weak and addicted… you have me

Helpless and vulnerable, I remain.

Confused

My thoughts… no longer am I the master of them.

My mind is an unfamiliar place, where you are the queen.

This dependence was unknown to me before you,

But what a part of my life it has become.

I know that you will probably hurt me,

I know that my words may fall on deaf ears,

I know that you have the power to destroy me.

Fearing and miserable I wait for the time when you decide,

Haunting my sleep, fears take shape… Is there any cure for this pain?

Awaken I reach for you, I know you aren’t there but still I reach.

Losing you… life would be too much to bear.

I want my life to revolve around you… this obsession is consuming me

One heartbeat at a time I fall further for you.

What are your intentions?

Why won’t you tell me?

Why can’t you give me anything concrete?

Why are you doing this tome?

Desperately I face each day, uncertain and afraid.

"One heartbeat at a time I fall further for you."

good imagery, and as i see it a pretty accurate description of being obsessed with someone who's keeping you hanging on.

nicely done.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
