A Silent Rage

Who deserted this forsaken earthworm,
Helpless, on this acidic inferno of a sidewalk?
His voice is too small to reach the
Complacent giants orchestrating earthquakes.
There are many words to grab angst’s spinal cord to shock,
But a kick or sand thrown in the face is easily understood.
Love is an abstraction:
Will you find a glass orchid in a forest
If you marched through trenches of bog in high spirits or
Climbed through overgrown weeds that lacerate your shins?
Lower me like a fireman resigns his clumsy hose;
If you are a lion do not taunt me.
Pretend to bite into a ripe peach; its sweet saccharine.
I’m not invincible but invisible.
I’m a storm lingering.
You be the Guillotine.
I’ll even slide my head through for you.
Four letters: illuminated green. EXIT.
Don’t leave me unchanged.
Cars speeding along;
Could I be that benefit to another?
Will it hurt?
Ask my name and simultaneously turn your back.
Keep to yourself like an aged grandmother knitting.
Behind that well-crafted
Plaster is an absurd soul.
Run away as if you’re pursued in
Texas with a chainsaw roaring a mantra behind:
“I will separate you from your well loved joints.”
Indulgence is a killer.
