Faceless

Contributed by pixie on Thursday, 3rd March 2005 @ 03:27:06 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

That’s me just a faceless girl,
Banging & clattering around in this world,
Needing love & needing attention,
Feeling alone in her psychological dimension.

People look but they don’t see me,
Because I am not as I am meant to be,
Always happy, smiling with not a care,
I’ve spent my life feeling nothing was ever there.

I go unnoticed for years at a time,
Never feeling as though anything is mine,
I just feel so alone & out of control,
I now know that I will never feel whole.

My reflection has long disappeared,
It has been so long since anything’s been clear,
I might as well be see through like glass,
As I am the only one sat at the back of the class.

I scream but it gets caught in my lungs,
Into the nothing my body’s been slung,
Everyone else’s face can be seen by the world,
But not mine as I am just the faceless girl.

A powerful write with wonderful rhyme and rhythum. The message is very sad and forlorn, and the emotion is very well protrayed. I hope you will risk genuine connection; and allow others to see t he inner you!

Keep on keeping on.....

This is sad Pixie and if it true that you feel this way you need to raise the bar on your self esteem. I don't see faceless---I see someone crying out but unsure of which direction to go in and I see talent deeply from your soul.

Believe it or not being the center of attention and having a face sometimes leaves a person feeling worthless. Because, other's can be so cruel and only look at the surface so everything else is never seen.

Just rambling along Pixie. I was deeply and forever moved by this piece.

Kie
